In a mission to address unmet vision care needs, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation launched its “Days of Sight” clinic in Pescara, Italy. The city is home to many disadvantaged individuals, where poverty and poor vision often go hand in hand. By offering vision screenings and glasses, the initiative aims to break the cycle of economic hardship linked to untreated vision issues, empowering people with better sight and creating brighter futures.

This initiative deeply matters to the underserved communities in Pescara — people who’ve been living without access to critical healthcare. For many, it’s their first time receiving proper eye care, a crucial step toward improving their quality of life. Organizations like Caritas, Comunità di Sant’Egidio and the Municipality of Pescara, along with local institutions such as the G. D'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, joined the Foundation’s efforts to accelerate our reach and impact.
